Andrew SchaperFounder & Principal
Andrew has over thirteen years of diverse professional experience with oil and gas companies, global financial institutions, enterprise technology firms and small businesses. His core competencies are assessing the reserves and value of oil and gas properties, advising clients contemplating oil and gas asset transactions and facilitating direct investments in upstream projects. Most recently, Andrew acted as the Head of Americas A&D Origination at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Houston, Texas. In total, Andrew has advised oil and gas clients on more than $26 billion in aggregate M&A and capital markets transactions. Prior to his time at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Andrew held positions with Citigroup, Quantum Resources Management LLC and Newfield Exploration Company. He spent the first several years of his career acting as a reservoir engineer in both development and exploratory capacities focused in several domestic basins. Andrew graduated Summa Cum Laude and first in his class from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He furthered his studies with a Master of Engineering degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master in Business Administration degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Andrew is continuing his education as a doctoral candidate in Interdisciplinary Engineering at Texas A&M with a focus on Nuclear, Environmental and Energy Engineering. Andrew is a licensed Professional Engineer in the States of Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Louisiana, Pennsylvania and Wyoming and is a Certified Petroleum Engineer (SPEC®) with the Society of Petroleum Engineers (“SPE”) and a member of the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers (“SPEE”). He is also a member of the American Nuclear Society (“ANS”), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (“IEEE”) and the Association of Energy Engineers (“AEE”) – Gulf Coast Chapter.

Michael StamatedesChief Geoscientist
Michael has over 35 years of geoscience experience with various major and independent Exploration and Production (E&P) companies and as a geophysical consultant; he has evaluated prospects and been involved in seismic acquisition, processing and interpretation, well-site operations and petrophysical evaluations in multiple basins and geologic intervals worldwide. Michael joins SE after ten years as Chief Geophysicist of Yuma Energy, a publicly traded E&P company with interests the Gulf Coast of Louisiana, Bakken, and West Texas Permian. Prior to joining Yuma, he had served as Chief Geologist for Zenergy/Palace Exploration, Vice President of Exploration and Technology for Meridian Resource Corporation, Staff Geophysicist for Benton Oil and Gas, Director/Co-founder of INEXS, a geophysical consultancy, and began his career with Amoco Production Company. In those positions, Michael was part of multiple successful exploration and development team efforts in the Gulf Coast Basin of Louisiana and Texas (onshore and offshore), the North Sea East Shetland Basin, Central Turkey and SE Turkey Fold Belt Basins, Maturin Basin Venezuela, and the Nile Delta offshore Egypt. Additionally, he completed regional studies of the Austin Chalk in Louisiana and East Texas, the Eagle Ford trend, and the Permian Basin in Texas and New Mexico. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Science degree in Geology from Louisiana State University. Michael is a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.

Salman KhanReservoir Engineer
Sal has three years of industry experience, including service in both operational and reservoir-oriented roles. His primary responsibilities as a Reservoir Engineer with SE include evaluation of engineering data, analytical support for ongoing projects and coordination with internal engineers and clients related to reserves and advisory projects. Prior to joining SE, Sal acted as a Field Engineer with Gyrodata, a Houston-based provider of wellbore placement technology, focused on horizontal development in the Permian Basin. He has extensive experience working on drilling rigs, workover units and completion sites. Sal has direct expertise in diagnosing and remedying field issues. Sal’s field exposure provides a unique understanding of operational uncertainty and urgency in the oil and gas industry. As an experienced engineer, he is proficient in many industry software suites including Aries, PHDWin, ArcGIS and Spotfire. Sal graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering. He is a TBPE-recognized E.I.T. in the State of Texas.
Jessie SmithOffice Manger
Jessie manages day-to-day operations as SE’s Office Manager which includes client relations, accounting and financial reporting functions. She has over two years of industry experience and has held other administrative positions in a variety of settings. Prior to joining SE, Jessie taught elementary school as a math and science instructor to grades three and five, in both Louisiana and Texas. Jessie graduated summa cum laude from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Grades Education and a Master of Arts in Teaching with a specialization in reading. She also holds her certification of instruction for English as a Second Language and is a Google certified educator.
