Andrew has fifteen years of diverse professional experience with energy companies, global financial institutions, enterprise technology firms and small businesses. His core competencies are advising clients contemplating energy asset transactions and facilitating direct investment in energy projects.
Prior to forming Schaper Energy Consulting, Andrew acted as the Head of Americas A&D Origination at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Houston, Texas. In total, Andrew advised oil and gas clients on more than $28 billion in aggregate M&A and capital markets transactions.
Prior to his time at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Andrew held positions with Citigroup, Quantum Resources Management LLC and Newfield Exploration Company. He spent the first several years of his career acting as a reservoir engineer in both development and exploratory capacities focused in several domestic basins.
Andrew graduated Summa Cum Laude and first in his class from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering specializing in Power Systems. He furthered his studies with a Master of Engineering degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master in Business Administration degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Andrew also holds a Doctor of Engineering degree in Interdisciplinary Engineering from Texas A&M University with a focus in Nuclear, Energy & Environmental Engineering.
Andrew is a licensed Professional Engineer in the States of Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wyoming and is a Certified Petroleum Engineer (SPEC®) with the Society of Petroleum Engineers (“SPE”) and a member of the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers (“SPEE”). He is also a member of the American Nuclear Society (“ANS”), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (“IEEE”) and the Association of Energy Engineers (“AEE”) – Gulf Coast Chapter.
