Michael has over 35 years of geoscience experience with various major and independent Exploration and Production (E&P) companies and as a geophysical consultant; he has evaluated prospects and been involved in seismic acquisition, processing and interpretation, well-site operations and petrophysical evaluations in multiple basins and geologic intervals worldwide.
Michael joins SE after ten years as Chief Geophysicist of Yuma Energy, a publicly traded E&P company with interests the Gulf Coast of Louisiana, Bakken, and West Texas Permian. Prior to joining Yuma, he had served as Chief Geologist for Zenergy/Palace Exploration, Vice President of Exploration and Technology for Meridian Resource Corporation, Staff Geophysicist for Benton Oil and Gas, Director/Co-founder of INEXS, a geophysical consultancy, and began his career with Amoco Production Company.
In those positions, Michael was part of multiple successful exploration and development team efforts in the Gulf Coast Basin of Louisiana and Texas (onshore and offshore), the North Sea East Shetland Basin, Central Turkey and SE Turkey Fold Belt Basins, Maturin Basin Venezuela, and the Nile Delta offshore Egypt. Additionally, he completed regional studies of the Austin Chalk in Louisiana and East Texas, the Eagle Ford trend, and the Permian Basin in Texas and New Mexico.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Science degree in Geology from Louisiana State University.
Michael is a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
